Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez comes from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. She is the younger of two brothers and a brother who is older. Due to the conflict in Sri Lanka that the family made the decision to relocate to Bahrain. She was given a scholarship to attend an undergraduate program at the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia after she had completed her schooling in Bahrain. As a lover of all the world of languages and cultures, she joined the Berlitz school of languages, which is where she began to learn Spanish as well as improve her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was crown in March 2006; she was also a part of Miss Universe 2006 The TV show she appeared on was founded after winning an award for the Miss Sri Lanka title. The show she hosts, Lanka Business Report, is about Sri Lankan business. Padukone was the daughter of badminton star Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and grew up in Bangalore. She was a badminton player at the national championships when she was young teenagers, however she decided to give up her sport career in order to be a model. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. She is Mangalorean in her origins. Padukone Village is located in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi Distric of Karnataka within India. Prakash Padukone has retired as an international badminton player and her mother is also a travel agent.
